Lyrica - You Relief From Fibromyalgia

People who suffer from the chronic fatigue, muscle pain, and stiffness of fibromyalgia finally have a drug to call their own. Last year the FDA ( Federal Drug Agency) approved the antiseisure drug Lyrcia (pregabalin), made by Pfizer, as a treatment for fibromyalgia. The news was a long time coming for the 3 to 6 million Americans, most of them women, who suffer from the frustratingly elusive and complex condition; the pain of fibromyalgia is unique and, therefore, unresponsive to conventional painkillers. In studies, Lyrcia not only soothed the aches of fibromyalgia but also significantly improved patients’ quality of life. Lyrcia already had the FDA’s okay as a treatment for epilepsy, discomfort from shingles, and neuropathy or nerve pain, often caused by diabetes. Patients benefiting from Lyrcia report an 80 per cent improvement in their pain, but there are some side effects initially so you have to weigh all those factors when you speak with your doctor. :D

Indian and other overseas doctors working in the United Kingdom ( UK ) will no longer be able to have their specialist medical training funded by the government under a new plan to be unveiled soon. A UK ministerial group is preparing a move to impose the ban on training posts on all foreign doctors from outside the European Union ( EU ) in a bid to prevent thousands of British medics from facing unemployment.

Foreign doctors from outside the European Union, who account for half of all applicans for this year, are apprehending a ban on their specialist medical training that is paid by tax payers. It has been known that the British Government and British doctors have been very upset after the High Court struc the Department of Health ( DoH ) guidance issued last year that foreign doctors could only be considered for a training post if there was no suitable candidate from Britain or the EU. But this was successfully challenged in court by the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin(BAPIO), that claimed it was unfairly discriminatory.

Benefits of Vitamin D

Researchers have long known that the “sunshine vitamin” boosts bone strength by encouraging the body to absorb calcium. But a slew of new studies published in 2007 suggests that the vitamin has a lot of other benefits:Diets high in D may ward of diabetes , gum diseases and multiple sclerosis- and may even cancer. Though some findings linking vitamin D and cancer showed questionable benefit, the news on colon cancer was promising. In one large trial , men in the Health Professionals Follow -Up Study and women in the Nurses’ Health Study with the highest blood levels of vitamin D were half as likely to develop colon cancer as their peers with less circulating vitamin D. To squeeze the most value out of vitamin D, aim for taking a supplement with 1,0000IU daily.
